BILLINGS - New York is weighing in on gun control by passing a bill, which limits those with mental illnesses from getting guns, and the law also bans possession of high-capacity magazines.
President Obama's plan for gun control reportedly is based on the recommendations by Vice President Joe Biden, and his gun task force. It may include a ban on assault rifles. Some Montanans are not pleased, including Donald Hurd, owner of Don?s Gun Shop.
?Something does need to be done to stop these crazy, sick shooting in schools and other places. But by taking away firearms away from the masses is not the solution. We need to have better background checks, different things. There are loopholes at gun shows that should be addressed. But its not taking away firearms from the people,? says Hurd.
The President is scheduled to publicly address the issue tomorrow.
